ZweiTon is Berlin-based composer and touch guitarist Alexander Dowerk's neo-progressive metal project.
Form is the debut album of ZweiTon. which unites his influences of modern, progressive metal, minimal music and IDM into a unique, genre-transcending musical vision. The six instrumental pieces on Form combine heavy grooves and intricate polyrhythms with catchy melodies. Minimal music's compositional principles meet modern rock's emotional energy, resulting in a complex and powerfully expressive interplay between mind and spirit.
The US Touch Guitar is Alexander's weapon of choice in mastering guitar and bass parts alike. This eight-string extended-range instrument is optimized for touch style playing ("tapping") but also allows for more traditional techniques such as plucking, strumming, or slapping.
The songs benefit just as much from the collaboration with Alexis Paulus, a virtuoso drummer who has already proved himself in many additional projects.
Adrian Benavides and Markus Reuter have produced and mixed the album with great affection for detail and created colorful, vivid sound worlds you simply can't escape.
Hang on to something - you're in for a rough ride!.
